About The Man In Seat 12A
The name is a nod to Mark Smith’s brilliant site, The Man in Seat 61. Mine came from my preferred seat that I usually booked on Air Asia, Scoot and Jetstar Asia between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Seat 12A was a window seat with extra legroom by the over wing exit.
I was born in London. In 2006 a job took me across the causeway to Singapore. Singapore has mostly been home ever since, with KL a weekly commute away. Nearly 20 years later I’m still making that trip, having flown the route on almost every airline that has operated it.
Somewhere along the way I moved from 12A on low cost carriers to flying full service carriers with the occasional business class treat.
This blog covers life, travel, food and aviation. Expect trip reports, lounge visits, restaurant finds and the occasional Friday Frustration. The older posts from 2011 onwards are still here, dated notes and all.
Independence
This blog is independent. The views are my own. If an airline or company gives me anything, from an event invitation to an upgrade, I’ll say so in the post.
